Since we hosted the competition, none of our club members participated in the competition. However, the following members participated in planning and volunteering their time to make this year’s competition a reality:
The MACHS competition went swimmingly at Reiman Gardens, followed swiftly a tour of Jack Trice Stadium and a three-way rotation of Bessey Hall, Horticulture Hall, and central campus. Friday evening rounded up with a tour of the Horticulture Research Station and dinner there. Saturday began with a tour of the Plant Introduction Station followed by a general migration to Des Moines for the Iowa Arboretum (with tree climbing) and the Des Moines Botanical Garden. Our award ceremony took place at Sukup Hall on campus.
